Easy C G and D Chord Guitar Song: Sweet Home Alabama

Published by epistimon at 10:08 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of the all time classic southern rock guitar songs.  Even though the lead guitar part is tricky for the beginner, the chords are pretty easy, just D C and G in that order.  It’s a good riff, and it’s also used by Warren Zevon in Werewolves of London, and by Kid Rock in All Summer Long.  It’s an easy song to play along with and fun too. There is one F chord in the song, if you haven’t mastered the F yet you can skip it.  Try it though it’s good to push yourself, that’s how you learn to play guitar better.

 	D C	            G
 	 Big wheels keep on turning
 	D	      C	             G
Carry me home to see my kin.
 	D	     C	             G
 	 Singing songs about the southland
 	D	          C	               G
 	 I miss’ole’ ‘bamy once again (and I think it’s a sin)
