An Easy Guitar Song by Coldplay: Viva la Vida

Published by epistimon at 11:54 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

This is a cool song, and a pretty easy guitar song to play, even though it’s really a keyboard based song, the electric guitar part is pretty minimal, but you can use your standard easy guitar chords to play this on acoustic guitar.  It’s from their 4th studio album, and it was the bands first Billboard Hot 100 hit. The song’s Spanish title is taken from a painting by artist Frida Kahlo. The 4 chords repeat over and over making it a pretty easy song to play on guitar.

Standard Tuning - Use a capo on fret 1
Introduction: C-D-G-Em

(Em) C D
I used to rule the world
           G Em
Seas would rise when I gave the word
                     C D
Now in the morning I sleep alone
          G Em
Sweep the streets I used to own
